It is homecoming week at Onalaska High School. This week is always an active time for the students and staff. On Friday, the events will culminate with an assembly, parade, ESPN obstacle course, a “celebrity” dunk tank fund-raiser and finally, the homecoming game. Please stop over for any or all of these events. It should bring back some good memories from your high school past.
Two weeks ago our school board decided to move forward with planning for the district’s future. Strategic planning for the next five years will take place in late fall and into the spring. Representatives from different community groups (including parents, community members, staff, students and parents) will be invited to take part in this planning. If you are interested in being involved, feel free to contact me. One of the strengths of our school board is they are representative of many people in the community and are interested in involving those various groups. When the planning is completed, it will have set the direction for our district and also outline ways to measure our progress. This is one more example of how we can all be in this together.
